Ray Day

What a day! We spent the morning looking for shells on Marco Island, digging through PILES of them on the beach. Found lots to take home. Lunch was at Old Marco Lodge in Goodland - right on the water with a great view of incoming boats. On the way back to the Neys' condo, we saw this fellow fishing along Rt. 92. From the bend in his pole, he obviously had a bite .... a BIG bite. We stopped to watch, ready with a net to help with whatever he had on the line. When we saw what it was, though, we all backed off in a hurry. Much to our relief, the stingray broke the line, but not before I got some pictures. So ... yesterday was a python, today was a stingray, tomorrow will be ....? (Actually, we're hoping for a panther sighting!)

Hello! This is my father-in-law in the picture. He was so excited to get back to WV & check this out on your blog! I printed it off for him, and he was exstatic to show it off to everyone. Thank you for posting this, & giving him a 'souvenier' of his day!
