Historic Spanish Point

We wakened to wind, which blew harder as the day wore on, even though it was mostly sunny.  No kayaking or beach today!  But it was a good day to visit Historic Spanish Point, with exhibits, archeological sites and buildings that trace human occupation from prehistory through the mid-20th century.  The guided tour lasted over two hours, but we agree we need to return on our own to read the many information signs we passed.

By the time we got back to the campsite, I had to rush to fix the crockpot mac ‘n’ cheese for supper with the Leedys.  With salad, canned fruit and wine, we had a good meal in their trailer.  Robi fixed brownies for dessert.  We ate some right away, and took a few to the nature center for the ice cream social and music sponsored tonight by campground volunteers.  We were entertained by a couple with guitar, banjo, dulcimer and autoharp.  Good music, just like the Floyd Country Store at home!
