On Sept. 12, we left Virginia for a 5-week trip to the northeast. We didn't get away until 3:45, so it was not a long drive to our first stop in Front Royal. The next day, we drove as far as Schenectady NY where my cousin lives. We called Judi, and she and her kids came over to the campground for a campfire (a propane fire, actually) and roasted marshmallows. On Fri morning, we finished this first leg of our trip, arriving at the Aliner NY/NE rally site in Wilmington NY.
The rally was great fun, in spite of the all-weekend drizzle. In addition to the NY/NE group, there were 4? units from the Mid-Atlantic region and 3 units who had come from their Eastern Canada rally the weekend before. John had brought my folks up to Tupper on Fri, and on Sat all 3 came over to the rally site. We all went over to Lake Placid for lunch, then came back to the CG to tour various campers. The Rockcastles were impressed!
Most of the group left on Sun, but we opted to stay over another day, along with Dave and Heather Michaels. The weather cleared a bit, and Sun afternoon we drove to Tupper with Michaelses to see the Wild Center. On the way back, Heather and Dave treated us to supper at a pub near Ausable. Back at our campsite, they were a great help in advising routes for the next part of our trip. (Note to self: pack highlighters in the camper. Great for maps!)

Your trip looks super. What an adventure. Sorry the weather has not been good lately, hope it clears up for you soon. Was that Ike that caused problems? I wish we could meet up with you as you travel through PA but we are flying to CA the 10th to the 20th and probably when you are coming thru. God Bless, Robilee
