One of the places we like best is the Shark Valley area of Everglades National Park. We’ve seen more wildlife from the tram tours than anywhere else. There were fewer birds this year, probably because of the dry conditions. Our highlight came at the end of the tour, as we walked along the water’s edge. We saw an alligator up ahead and Forrest said, “What’s that in his mouth?” We saw and heard the “crunch crunch” as the gator downed the gar in about 3 bites. In mid-meal, the fish almost flopped into the water, but the gator made a fast recovery. Shark Valley has not disappointed us yet!
